The
1st Tansley Scout Group is part of the Central Escarpment Region of Ontario, Canada. We meet at Tansley United Church.
Like
all scouting groups, 1st Tansley strives to provide a fun social environment with programs
that teach children and youth how to become self-reliant and caring members of our
society.
We have three fully co-ed sections:
Beavers
- Ages 57
- Motto: Sharing, Sharing, Sharing!
- Meet for 1 hour each week
- Outdoor
activities include field trips and the Beaverbee at Camp Manitou in late May, which
features a day of fun with various games and activities
Cubs
- Ages 810
- Motto: Do Your Best!
- Meet
for 1½ hours each week
- Indoor
activities include stories, songs, crafts, skits, games, building and racing wooden Kubkars, and theme activities
- Outdoor
activities include hikes, field trips, bike rodeos, several yearly camping trips, and usually one overnight trip to a site of special interest

Indoor
activities teach self-reliance and creative thinking, with an emphasis on survival skills

activities include hikes and weekend camping trips, as well as community service
initiatives
