Tansley Reads!
Do you love to read, and talk about good books over a cup of tea or coffee and some nibblies? Have you ever wanted to recommend a wonderful novel to a wider audience? Here’s your chance to have a say in a very prestigious book recommendation! Each September, members of Tansley Reads! nominate eight novels for Tansley's Book of the Year, then we discuss one book on the fourth Monday of each month (except December), rating each one after a (sometimes rowdy) discussion. By June we’ll have a winner!
The winner of our prestigious title for 2009-2010 was Good to a Fault, by Marina Endicott!
List of nominees for 2009-2010 (Final score in red):
- October 26: Still Alice, by Lisa Genova (77%)
- November 23: Suite Francaise, by Irene Nemirovsky (54%)
- January 25: Extraordinary Canadians: Norman Bethune, by Adrienne Clarkson (47%)
- February 22: The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society, by Mary Ann Shaffer (75%)
