Confirmation (for Teens)"Confirmation" means becoming a formal member of the church by confirming the promises that your parents made on your behalf at baptism (although you do not have to be baptized to be a part of the Confirmation group!). It is is open to youth in grade 9, as well as older youth who have not been confirmed in previous years. First there's a series of meetings, where you learn more about the United Church and discuss your own faith. You are then given an opportunity to be confirmed by making a profession of faith during a church service. Still got questions? We have answers here! Watch this space in late 2008 for details of the Youth Confirmation Group that will begin in Winter 2009. We also offer Confirmation classes for adults from time to time. |
